Anyways, during the 2nd week of the holidays, went down to Port Dickson for my leadership camp. The camp was suppose to be 4 days, 3 nights, but the committee went down a day earlier to set up important things.
On the 7th June, my whole family made a trip down to Malacca before dropping me at Brindley's Training Camp, PD. Our aim for going down to Malacca was to eat wan tan mee at Jonker Street. That stall is like the must go place of my family. We are bound to visit and eat at that stall whenever we're in Malacca. After eating, we walked around Jonker Street for awhile to buy the necessities. Then, we took the coastal road to PD.
Reach the campsite at about 2.30pm. The rest of the committee and Ms Ellen were already there. As soon as I went to see the place where we'll be sleeping for the next 4 nights, my heart fell. The ground was uneven, it was infested with mosquitos, the tents looked small. Thank God, that my tent only had 2 people :)
That night, we decided not to sleep in the tents but instead sleep in the halls as there were air-condition and it is free of mosquitos. Slept around 2 nearly 3 am just planning before the camp officially starts.
Next day, woke up at 7.30am, went to finish up the planning while Ms Ellen went to get breakfast for us. We had to clear the hall and shift our luggage to the tents. The campers arrived at 12pm and we lead them to the hall to be briefed.
After the briefing, took them to the campsite for them to set up their own tents. Took them faster then expected though there were a few faulty tents. Headed for lunch before going back to the hall for the opening ceremony. We had many games planned up for them for that day and also for the rest of the camp. Most of the training were done by the organizer, Mr Aaron Tan from Pathways Academy.
The days at the camp just flew by us and before we know it, its the end of camp. Many things happened, activities were really enjoyable and it really taught the prefects and librarians to be united, to be one, to never leave each member behind. Though it was a really tiring camp; didn't get enough of sleep, a little smelly camp; didn't bath for 3 days, in the end, we all had fun and it was really good to bond with the younger ones. Leadership were shown a lot throughout this camp and it really opened the eyes of the form 5 prefects and the teachers.
Hope that next year camp planned by this year form 4 prefects would be just as fun and great or even better than this year's camp. Though it was my first and last leadership camp, I really had a good time just talking, and getting to know each other better!
As usual, I don't have any pictures due to the fact that I've got no camera :( oh well, if you want to see the pictures taken, you can go to facebook or go to Roy's blog. :)
